| | In summer 2010, the 'Kunstverein Leipzig' invited six artists to examine the Kolonnadenviertel in the center of Leipzig with regard to its architecture and its history.
The title of the art project "Platte Schraube, Fuge" (tile, board, screw) alluded to the way of building and living in the former GDR, pointed at the same time to the current urbanistic discour- se, wherein Leipzig primarily deals with the continuous gentrification and the social development of the urban quar- ters.
Within this context, the UTOPIAN INSTI- TUTE temporarily settled during the festival in the quarter's everyday life as an "informative interspace" with library and bureau.
