HELEN OF SPARTA - Did Paris kidnap Helen or did she follow him on her free will? Whatever Helen’s decision was, she soon found herself trapped.
Helen means the moon and was venerated as an immortal goddess in ancient Sparta. Being a satellite of those who meet decisions for her, Helen follows a path chosen by others.
The series „Trapped“ by Elina Kakourou of Sparta, talk of the dilemma Greek youth faces. Follow or unfollow the beaten track? The olive tree - a trademark of Greece - suggests another possibility: the fusion of innovation with tradition.
Kakourou studied Economics and Management in London and jewellery design in Greece and UK. She has exhibited her work in Greece and at „Schmuck - Munich Jewellery Week“.
