In
the background of the fascination for an allegedly unrestricted social
and cultural mobilization, an arsenal of new and extended strategies of
commercialization, conformisation and social exclusion seems to open up.
Propagating
feelings of community and identity, individuality and cultural
difference are profitably absorbed; a potential rebellion by a
counter-culture is - for the duration of the spectacle - transformed
into a consumable ritual, in order to be put aside thereafter as hollow
shaft of a social interest.
