cz

Christoph Ziegler has a background in sculpture, installation, and performance. His large-scale works (2005–20) explore the intersection of construction and social interaction in public space. From 2010 to 2022 he developed Moebling, a performative dialogue between the human body, furniture, and household objects. Since 2015, Ziegler is working with jewelry and wearable art, with exhibitions in London, Amsterdam, Athens, Berlin, Munich, Valencia, Mons, and Leipzig.

Ziegler is publisher of the print and online medium SMCK Magazine, and has curated international group shows and the video festival SMCK On Reel together with his partner Loukia Richards.

His art projects have been commissioned by institutions including the Federal Agency for the Environment (UBA), the Bauhaus Foundation, Thikwa Theater, the Gauloises Variété Liberté Art Festival, and The Open Museum–Kunsthalle Hamburg. He has presented solo and group exhibitions in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Dresden, Leipzig, Weimar, Amsterdam, Athens, Leonidio, Marseille, and Skopje.

Ziegler studied sculpture at the Universität der Künste, Berlin, and at the École des Beaux-Arts, Marseille.
