JEWELRY

My jewelry concept is rooted in recycling — not only of materials, forms, and objects, but also of their functions and histories. Through my working process, I seek to give new value to things typically regarded as useless, broken, or discarded.

The Memories series (2022–25) explores the tactile qualities of natural materials and handcrafted objects. Made from found and discarded wood, the series challenges conventional notions of value in jewelry. Hand-cut olive wood, fragments of old furniture, plastic components, and other recovered materials evoke both memory and the haptic presence of the material.

The Melting Jewelry and Broom Brooch series (2015–21) represent “waste jewelry” — works created from plastic debris and everyday consumer items collected from streets and beaches in Greece. Both series go beyond imitating the glamour of traditional jewelry, and are inspired by popular culture — including punk, pop, comics, and sci-fi.
