GERMAN DISCO

The German Disco light and sound installation, presented as part of the exhibition Beyond Desire at ACC Gallery Weimar in 2011, ironically reflected on German work-life philosophy of the time. As visitors approached the square, silver-foil-wrapped box, the space suddenly came alive with colorful disco lights and a pounding rhythm, looping the phrases ‘Arbeit, Freizeit, Sex’ and ‘Ich’ — ‘work, leisure, sex’ and ‘me’.

The exhibition Beyond Desire was a retrospective showcasing works created during the 2010 Artists-in-Residence program at ACC Gallery Weimar.
