"Six Columns", 2024. Olive wood, found wood objects, clear coat.
Inspired by found objects and materials gathered during my extended stays in Greece, these reliefs and wall objects engage with the chromatic and formal vocabulary of the Mediterranean landscape, its architecture, the ruins of ancient temples, and the ornamental heritage of the Byzantine era.
Wood serves as the primary medium for these sculptural objects: its brittle, weathered surfaces — at times sealed with the boat varnish traditionally used on Greek fishing vessels — imbue the works with a subtle, ethereal presence.
